ParaSport® Ontario is inviting student classes, educators and assistants from Secondary Schools across the Niagara Region to participate in a special event called the Niagara Parasport Festival.
A two-day community festival, and Day One is Education Day, dedicated exclusivity to Niagara’s high school community.
It’s all happening on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, from 9:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. (event is open until 6 p.m. so stay as long as you like) at the Meridian Community Centre in Fonthill.
“All In for EveryBODY” is a unique learning day to open minds to new perspectives and ideas about inclusive and adapted sport and recreation.

Keynotes
Highly sought-after keynote speakers from Ontario’s disability community, like Niagara’s own Paralympian Jeff Tiessen, renowned TedX "body positivity" speaker Talli Osborne and “Lady of the Lakes” Marathon Swimmer Vicki Keith, guarantee to engage, educate and motivate our student audience.

Para-Athlete Panel
Learn about disability and pathways to participation in adapted sport from Niagara athletes Chris Garner (pargolfer), Tess Trojan (Special Olympian), Brock University’s Amber Briar (para-fencer) and Niagara College’s Julian Caverley (sledge hockey and boccia).
And after the keynotes… over 20 adapted sport and activity stations to try for everyBODY!

All programming is FREE with registration.
Food Trucks on Site for Lunch and Refreshments Purchase or Students can bring their own.

Transformational Teaching. The “Lady of the Lakes”, world-renowned marathon swimmer Vicki Keith shares incredible life experiences and her approach to leadership, with a lens on respect, responsibility and relationships.
Jeff Tiessen
Niagara resident Jeff Tiessen, a three-time Paralympian, gold-medalist, world-record holder, best-selling author and advocate, sets the stage for the day with a new mindset on disability inclusion and diversity.
